What are Low-T Injections?
The number of physicians prescribing testosterone injections has been growing dramatically in recent years. There is a good reason for this — because it works. At Lewis Pain Management, Dr. Jerry W. Lewis works with patients to create customized treatment plans to target their low-T. Because of advanced research studies and new treatment options, we are able to better understand the benefits of stabilizing, optimizing, and balancing the endocrine system to improve all the symptoms of low testosterone and help patients to live a healthier life. Low-T injections remain the most common and effective way that Dr. Lewis supplements testosterone in the body. While there are creams and gels available, injections deliver the medication directly to the endocrine system and in our practice, we find that most patients prefer the results of testosterone injections over the other methods.
At Lewis Pain Management, our goal is to help you minimize your symptoms of low-T, and with weekly or bi-weekly injections of hormone replacement therapy, we can provide successful results in improving your levels. We invite you to learn more about Low-T injections by calling our Frisco, TX office today.
Types of Injections
Dr. Lewis works with each individual patient differently, prescribing a customized treatment plan that works with each patient's symptoms and lifestyle. He offers the following types of low-T injections:
This type of injection is prescribed via Testosterone Cypionate with grape seed oil due to the viscosity and esters. We also use different base oils for the suspension. While we typically lean toward grapeseed oil, we also use sesame and cottonseed oils as well.
Intramuscular (IM) Testosterone injections have always been the most popular delivery method for physicians as the dosage lasts longer in the body. Testosterone has traditionally been delivered through IM testosterone injections, and most commonly shot into the glute or the upper outside quadrant of your buttocks by the hip.
What to Expect
During your consultation with Dr. Lewis, a personalized plan will be created to treat your specific systems. It is also important to prescribe an injection plan that meets and fits within your lifestyle. If HRT is the prescribed therapy, you will have a discussion with Dr. Lewis and together, you can decide if an injection is the most appropriate method of delivery.
We believe in balancing the overall hormones of a person. In addition to testosterone, your prescriptions may include many other hormones as needed based on your personal bloodwork and diagnostic results. We may also prescribe a healthy fitness and nutrition regimen, and sleep recommendations to supplement the injections. The testosterone injections will increase the testosterone levels to normal levels more consistently than creams or gels. Regular blood tests to check your testosterone will be required to make sure levels are steady and not too high. Dr. Lewis will schedule regular blood tests to regulate and monitor these levels as needed.
